Happy Halloween

Our big Halloween party was this past Saturday night. We had a blast. Everyone had great costumes. ( I'm working on adding pictures to my album.) Curtis and I decided to be a couple, the Grim Reaper and the Angel of Death. He was supposed to be Larry the Cable Guy (which I thought suited him perfectly) but he changed his mind at the last minute.
The kids bobbed for apples and did the mummy wrap. And as usual we all ate way too much. We had chili dogs, caramel apples, brownies, jello (filled with gummy bugs ofcourse) and punch. I also made a pretty cool haunted house cake. We decorated the house with black lights, strobe lights, black baloons and streamers and the kids added a stuffed dummy in the corner that looked like Michael Myers from the movie Halloween. So overall it was pretty creepy. I wish you all could have been here.

A new post...finally!

This ones for you Jerri:

Summers over and fall is near. This past summer was pretty busy with everything from camping to luau's. We had a great camp out to spring River with some friends. We had so much fun.
We have spent many hours sitting on our patio this summer with neighbors and friends. Curt had the guys over for a chittlin' cookin the first of the summer. All the ladies decided to skip that and go shopping instead. Jacob celebrated his 15th birthday with a Hawaiian luau. We had a good turn out and a good time was had by all. Joshua has been working hard on getting the NROTC scholarship. We should hear something on that later this fall.
We have had so much fun this summer with the bar-b-q's , fish fry and luau, that we decided to have a big Halloween costume party this year. Here on post we always have a good turn out and that makes it worth the effort. The only thing that could make that better is if my good friends from back home could join us.
I almost forgot, Jacob passed his test yesterday and got his driving permit. He is so excited to finally be old enough to get that.
Well thats all I got for now. Ill try a lot harder to keep this blog updated. I also updated my picture album, so be sure to check those out.

Summertime!

We have been on summer break for almost a month. Curtis started his vacation this weekend so maybe we can do something fun now. I spent this weekend at my Mom's family reunion. I was able to see relatives I have not seen in years. Ill post pics later.
Next weekend, we are going camping in Hardy with some of our favorite campers. We are really looking forward to getting away from Fort Campbell for a few days. Can you believe this will be our first camp out this year? Army life just does not allow the time. When we were part of the civilian world we would have been a couple of times by now. But never the less, we are excited to finally have time to go. Thats really all I have for now. Not much new stuff on this end.

Its almost summer!

Just a couple weeks left until summer break, I cant wait! We are looking forward to all the camp outs and back yard cook outs. We are especially excited about the camp out to Spring River in June. We cant wait to see all our "inner circle" friends.
Other than school and work, I dont have much going on right now. Curtis has been busy with his work. He's really starting to enjoy his new job. Josh is still enjoying his Jeep Cherokee. He has a new girlfriend named Amanda, shes really cute. When he's not at school or work, he has been busy looking into colleges he may want to attend. He has almost talked himself out of West Point. He is really interested in Ole Miss (ROTC). He has also talked with someone about Annapolis (sp?). Its starting to get excited about him going to college. I also found out he will graduate May 16, 2008, its kind of weird to be able to say that already. Jacob finally had a chance to go to the Ft Campbell paintball field last weekend. He had a blast. He's looking forward to his birthday luau in August. We have been shopping already for ideas. (Thanks Melissa for your help with this) It should be fun. I think thats all I got for now. See ya soon!

April 2007

This past week we have been on spring break and as usual the weather turned cold. It has been below freezing the last two nights. Curtis was not very happy since he just started his garden. He has been working a lot of hours (his record so far is 32 hrs straight) but when hes home he likes to work in the garden.
Last week we bought a Jeep cherokee for Josh. We had planned on giving him my red car and Curtis taking the Jeep (so once again I would end up with his truck). But the car doesnt really suit Josh. I hate driving the new truck so I decided I wanted to keep my car until I can get something I want to drive. Josh was happy since he wanted the Jeep anyway. He has been busy working and managing the baseball team at school. He spends all his spare time working on college applications. Its hard to believe that this time next year Ill be getting ready to send him off to college. You better enjoy your babies while you can because time flies.
Jacob is looking forward to going to high school next year. He has been busy going to the movies and bowling with his friends. (All the things teenagers do.) He is looking forward to getting his driving permit this summer. I dont know if Im ready for two teens in cars. LOL
I have spent spring break doing a little spring cleaning and getting organized. I have a few quilting projects started that I need to finish. Curtis finally had time to build our new platform bed so I need to finish the bedspread I started on months ago.
Thanks for all the prayers for my Dad. He had surgery for 5 blocked arteries last month. He is home and doing much better. Thats all I got for now. See ya next month!

March 2007

Lets see, whats new?? Josh just got a job at Domino's Pizza. Hes really excited about that. He is ready to earn some of his own money. Curtis has started his new job here on post at Fort Campbell. That seems to be going well. Jacob has been enjoying the pretty weather we had this past week. He took some time to get outside and play some baseball. Of course this weekend was strange. We went from 60 degrees back to the 30's yesterday and had a little snow. No accumulation this time. Im still driving the school bus and looking forward to spring break in April. With spring in the air, I cant help but look forward to camping this summer. My inner circle girls and I have already started planning our next camp out. We are all looking forward to that. I guess thats all I got for now.

PS- Im looking forward to seeing a new post on all my friends blogs, hint hint!

Im ready for spring

I am so ready for warm weather. I am sick of snow. I think it has snowed a dozen times since we moved here. Some days it snows all day long but at the end of the day there is not a flake of snow anywhere. Sometimes we get up and it looks like this picture outside. Yesterday it was snowing when I got up and was still snowing when I went to bed. But this morning there is only sleet and a little freezing rain on the ground and on the streets. Its really weird. Its just a big cold slushy mess. This week we are finally supposed to get temps above freezing. I am so excited about that. I HATE THE COLD!! It has given Curtis an opportunity to stay inside and get back to painting. In fact I posted pics of his paintings in my photo album. Im looking forward to spring and summer. Is everybody ready for camping???
